A frequency converter (VFD) is a power electronic device that regulates the rotational speed and power of a motor by changing the frequency of its power supply.

The principle is to first rectify the industrial frequency alternating current into direct current, and then invert it into adjustable frequency alternating current to drive the motor, achieving a positive correlation regulation between the rotational speed and the frequency.

The core functions include precise speed regulation, energy conservation and consumption reduction (such as 30% to 70% energy saving for fans and pumps), and soft start protection for motors, etc.
